Following the recent demise of John Rodrigues, a resident of Sawantwadi and a generous benefactor of the Diocese of Sindhudurg, Bishop Alwyn Baretto along with the priests of the diocese offered a requiem mass for his soul on 7 November 2019.
They were joined by his wife Cecile Rodrigues and other family members who had come from Mumbai, along with many other faithful of the diocese. He had passed away on 6 August 2019, in Mumbai.
John was the principal donor for the aged home, developed by the diocese. He had donated his land, along with monetary help for the project.
Bishop Alwyn Baretto expressed his sincere gratitude to the family for their kind generosity and assured them of his prayerful support.
