Rosary Church Ajara won the Bible Quiz 2019, which was organised by the Sindhudurg Diocesan Bible Commission at Mount Carmel Church, Chinder. The chief guest for the occasion was Bishop Alwyn Barreto.
Besides winning the title, the winners won a cash prize of Rs 5000. The second prize was won by Rosary Church, Bhironda and the third prize was won by the host parish Mount Carmel Church. The first prize was sponsored by the Catholic Bank, Sawantwadi.
Mount Carmel Church was chosen as the venue for the event owing to the celebration of its centenary year.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Francis D’souza, Parish Priest of Mount Carmel and the quizmaster, said,” We congratulate everyone who participated in this competition and invite everyone to read and understand the Word of God.”
